1. The Problem
Arweave changed the game. For the first time, you can store data permanently — pay once, and it lives for 200+ years on a decentralized network that nobody controls. No subscriptions. No expiration. No company that can pull the plug.
There is one catch: Arweave is public.
Everything stored on Arweave is visible to everyone. That is the entire point — it is a permanent, public ledger. But that means your files, your photos, your creative work, your private data — all of it is readable by anyone who knows where to look.

Bitty Cat adds a privacy layer on top of Arweave. Before your data ever touches the permanent storage network, it gets encrypted. What lands on Arweave is ciphertext — unreadable noise to anyone without the key.

Every Bitty NFT is more than art. It is a functional encryption key on the Solana blockchain. Your wallet and your NFT together derive a unique cryptographic key that only you can produce. No passwords to remember. No key files to lose. No server holding your secrets.
Public permanence + private encryption = best of both worlds. Your data gets the 200-year permanence guarantee of Arweave, and the privacy guarantee of military-grade encryption. Nobody — not Bitty, not Arweave, not anyone — can read your files without your NFT.
If Bitty Cat disappeared tomorrow, your data would still be on Arweave, and your encryption keys would still be derivable from your wallet. The math does not depend on us.
3. How It Works
The process is simple. No blockchain expertise required.
You select a file. Images, documents, music, video — any file type, any size.
Your file is encrypted using a key derived from your wallet and your Bitty NFT. The encryption key is never stored anywhere — it is generated on the fly from your wallet signature, every time.
The encrypted file is uploaded to Arweave. It lives there permanently — paid once, stored for 200+ years. But it is just encrypted noise. Nobody can read it.
When you want your file back, your wallet + NFT re-derive the same key and decrypt it. Only you can do this. Transfer the NFT, and the new holder gets access. Lose the NFT, and the data stays encrypted forever.
That is it. No accounts to create. No passwords to manage. No subscription fees. Your Solana wallet is your identity, your NFT is your key, and Arweave is your vault.

5. Bitty NFTs
Bitty Kitty NFTs are not collectibles. They are functional encryption keys that happen to be beautiful pixel art.
Every NFT derives a unique cryptographic key from your wallet. That key encrypts and decrypts your files. Transfer the NFT, and access transfers with it. It is the first NFT that actually does something useful — it controls who can read your data.
How They Work
- Deterministic key derivation — Your wallet signs a message, producing a signature unique to your wallet + NFT combination. That signature is run through a key derivation function to produce your encryption key. Same wallet, same NFT, same key. Every time.
- No stored secrets — The encryption key is never saved anywhere. It is regenerated from your wallet on every use. There is no database of keys to hack.
- Transferable access — Sell or transfer your NFT, and the new holder derives their own key. Your old key stops working. Access control is built into the transfer mechanics of Solana NFTs.
- Recoverable — Lost access? As long as you have your wallet, you can re-derive your key from any device, any browser, anywhere in the world.
What Is a Bitty NFT?
Bitty NFTs are functional encryption keys that give you access to encrypted permanent storage on Arweave.
